Peppermint Bark

Although I rarely crave chocolate (I'm more a cupcake and cookie kind of girl) I can never resist a good chocolatier and always make sure to hit up Godiva for their free truffle of the month.  Since chocolate is also such a delicious artistic medium, I've wanted to try creating some of my own chocolate confections for awhile now.

Despite our house being so full of holiday sweets that even I needed a diabetes break, I decided to try my hand at peppermint bark this Christmas and couldn't be happier with the results.  I wanted a recipe that included a layer of both dark and white chocolate and finally settled on this one.  Since my sister (grumpywhenhungry.blogspot.com) and I often attempt new recipes together during the holidays, she agreed to be my sous-chef and photographer.

Next year I plan on wrapping pieces in Christmas cellophane to give as gifts.
