The little things

To help combat the slow (or perhaps careful and well thought out?) renovations, I decided our apartment needed more personal touches that don't require big expenditures to remind my boyfriend and I that this is our home and not a campsite.  Since our dining table is all by itself at the moment, a centerpiece seemed like a natural companion to bring some life to the dining room.  I've always loved lilies for their life expectancy (at least 3 weeks) and delicate scent and since fresh flowers also happen to be my cure-all for a boring room, I created a simple centerpiece of white Easter lilies and candles with glass candlesticks.

Although our microwave still lives on the floor plugged into the dining room wall, this and a few other small improvements this week have done wonders to counteract the squatters effect.
