Outfits of the Week

I've been feeling less than inspired about my wardrobe recently but the closet can sometimes be like a black hole for my paycheck.  I know I've bought stuff I love but where did it all go?

Since my usual cure for fashion boredom is picking up a couple new exciting duds, last week I looked at my rather full closet and told myself:  "You don't need another spree.  Your closet is full AND you've had shoppers high for almost every item in here, you're just being lazy."  I had to agree with my conscience so despite my urge to whittle down the shopping wish list, I decided to make this disappointing yet definitively factual realization more fun (and save some $$) by treating it as a challenge to reinvent my wardrobe.

Sometimes all a closet needs is a fresh set of eyes and some different pairings to make it feel like new so I re-organized to shed new light on forgotten items, put away summer wear, and was happily greeted with some old goodies.

Here are my new ensembles from last week:

 Monday

Pulled out my scarves from the back of the closet for fall and dug out some long sleeves.
Grungy is perfect for a tired Monday.

Marc Jacobs aviators, Club Monaco scarf, Mango jeans, Topshop wedge high tops, Soia & Kyo leather jacket and gloves, Forever 21 top

 Tuesday

Found my fur and a pair of brown suede pumps from 6 years ago for a quick meeting with a client.

Vintage fur coat, Mackage blouse, Michael Kors bag and watch, J. Crew jeans, Steve Madden pumps, Marc Jacobs aviators

Wednesday

An old love rediscovered - my high waisted wide leg trousers for a new business meeting in the city.
p.s. Burgeoning obsession with cute gloves, especially sans jacket worn just with a blouse

Burberry wrap with pockets (discontinued unfortunately!), Soia & Kyo gloves, Robert Rodriguez trousers, Uniqlo top, Marc Jacobs aviators, H&M necklace, Longchamps tote

Thursday

Another high-waisted friend from years ago, nice change from all the skinnies and more work-y for being out of the office.

Club Monaco jeans, Mackage blouse, BCBG Maxazria coat, Stuart Weitzman pumps

Friday

My homage to halloween weekend - an old comfy sweater and one of the few colorful things I own.

Zara sweater and leather blazer, H&M blouse, Mango jeans, Aldo booties, leather briefcase from a boutique in Rome
