Rumble, rumble

I've lived in the North East my whole life and although Vermont actually sits on a fault line, I've never been conscious for an earthquake despite the numerous little trembles that shake our coast.

Last night however I was conscious to experience the 4.5 magnitude quake in Montreal.  Rather than feeling a tiny thrill of excitement at having finally been awake, instead I woke up with an uncomfortable twinge of adrenaline and I would not look forward to repeating the experience.

The low ominous rumbling that was either the earth or our building shaking was such an odd and unsettling sensation, reminding me that I'm actually headed to the west coast tomorrow.  Sure hope everything is calm this weekend in Victoria, BC!

Above are a few of my favorite tweets from the ensuing twitter storm.  Finally there is proof that people in Montreal use Twitter!
